Dodgers (and Jobey) are Playoff Bound!

Well, my hopes were met as the Dodgers not only posted above .500 (which I thought was my only realistic hope...I just wanted to watch decent baseball in Dodger Blue), but also took the Division late in September. My thoughts for the playoffs? To be honest, given their 20 year record in the playoffs (they have won one game...yes, one, they are 1-12, this being only the 5th time in 20 years they have gone to the playoffs), I am basically expecting the worst, but quite honestly hoping for the best, which isn't maybe as far fetched as it seems.

So what does this mean for me? It means I'm going to the first home game in the NLDS at Dodger Stadium on Saturday!

This is exciting for me, obviously because it's the Dodgers, but also because I've never been to a playoff game, so this really should be an awesome time.

Today, however, is when the whole shebang starts. So today, Katie, myself, Micah, and Liam are gonna don our Dodger Blue, and host a kick-off Dodger Playoff Party for our 4 Dodger friends, complete with blue plates, blue plasticware and blue napkins, a grilled 18 pack of Dodger Dogs (thanks, Smart and Final!), grilled onions and peppers, 'tato salad and BBQ baked beans, beer, and we're bringing all of our Dodger decorations out of Micah's room to decorate the family room as we (hopefully) enjoy the first day of the new Los Angeles Dodgers.

Let's hope this goes well.

PS...for the record, I didn't think the Dodgers would make it to the post-season, in which case I would have been pulling for the Cubs come playoff time, as I'd love to see them win the World Series. Sure it's been 20 years for us, but it's been 100 years for them. Now, however, things are different since we're opening up against them, and all that sentiment is out the window. Sorry Cubbies. :o( I will say, however, that if in fact the Cubbies take this opening series against the Dodgers, I will, despite hard feelings, pull for the Cubbies to take it all. Of course, I say that now, let's see how I feel if that really does happen though. :o)
