lifeGroup Updates...

So this week was the beginning of a few new groups and a bunch of new folks joining groups. I've already heard some great reports from many, I wanted to share a few of the experiences here.

From Matt Piro:

This past season has really taken our group from a bunch of people who were scratchin’ the surface of being friends to a bunch of people scratchin’ the surface of being a true family of brothers and sisters in Christ...it’s been so amazing to see everyone growing closer together, lifting each other up in prayer throughout the week, speaking into each others’ lives and all that jazzy goodness. It has been such an amazing experience to grow deeper in our faith together and grow closer to one another as a group. This past weekend, 10 out of 14 of us went up to a cabin in Arrowhead to hang out and snowboard and it was such an awesome time (except for when I tracked dog poo through out the entire house…sorry Katie!) A bunch of us are starting to go through the CRAZY LOVE book by Francis Chan together now too. We’re just really stoked on this next season :)

From Luis and Missy Mora:

Jobe, I have been meaning to get back to you on a few things…

The last 4 weeks have taken Missy and I to a whole new level. We are very excited in what God is doing in our lives. We have NEVER been closer. With regards to lifeGroup…September through December was really tough on me as sometimes I just winged our group and I hated that I was not giving my 100%. Since then, Mis and I looked at each other to create solutions on how to make this a priority and we have done so. Since then we are now well prepared for our group we are getting a lot more out of it, thus creating a better environment for learning, trust, and comfort.

I also want to let you know that the new way that you are doing the weekly homework assignments (on the back of the bulletin) is really cool. I think this is one major reason for my commitment - you guys made it so easy.

Anyway, just a quick synopsis. Take it easy.

From Chris and Carrie Erdos:

Jobey, lifeGroup is going off! We have 14 people and we are simply out of seats in the living room. We had a new couple join and one other guy, while the OG's are regularly attending. Everyone is really comfortable and we have seen incredible answers to prayer as well. The girls have especially bonded, resulting in some movie nights, bowling and one ill-conceived trip to the Stampede.

Thanks for checking in. It would be cool if you could join us one of these nights.

From Seth and Rachel Jobin:

Hey Jobey, interesting story....

There is a girl that works next door to me in Rancho Bernardo, and she and her husband literally live two streets away from us in Escondido. She just told me yesterday that she saw me on Sunday, they started coming to theMovement two months ago and both even got baptized on Sunday! Now, they are going to come on Thursday to our lifeGroup!

It really blew me away how God orchestrated that...we work next door, live down the street, they started going to the same church and I had no idea, our lifeGroup was full and we just had a spot open up...

Coincidence?

Thanks again for doing all of this.

From Haide Morgan:

Two new people joined my group last night and what a fit! God has been so very faithful to put together His choice of kids in the groups I have participated in…no exception last night! And His timing of trials in our lives is so perfect…we as a group were able to help and pray for each other last night for right now, at the moment problems.

I thank you all very much for the privilege of hosting a group; most certainly not me leading, but our Lord.

From Eric and Kathy Price:

My wife and I started our very first lifeGroup last night. We had 2 couples we were familiar with and 2 couples we had never met. Everything went so well, we were very pleasantly surprised! Everyone got along and related, it was pretty amazing; everything was so natural and comfortable, we are looking forward to jumping into our lifeGroup homework and growing together as a group!
